It is common in nature for the male half of a given species to have innate courtship behavior they use to attract a mate. It is not universally so, but the courtship behaviors in males are more the rule then the exception. Females in this equation hold a great deal of decision making influence over the male. Although it is almost universally males who hold physical superiority, it is the females who control the males during this selection process. Whether one considers humans to be transcendent from animals or simply apart of nature as a biological extension.
